Our EDF Export Variable tariff(s) for a number of renewable energy technologies
EDF Energy is a Mandatory SEG Licensee
The Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) is a licensee requirement to offer an export tariff to eligible generators. This tariff is for you where you have installed one of the below technologies with capacity up to 5MW or up to 50kW for Micro-CHP:
Customers also need a smart meter or half-hourly electricity meter and must not already receive payments under the Feed In Tariff (FIT) Scheme or already receive SEG payments from another SEG licensee.

If you are interested in EDF Export Variable Value and are not supplied by EDF, receive a home energy quote.
Our previous Export+Earn tariff – which was withdrawn to new SEG customers on 22nd July 2022 – is a 1.5p flat rate for both EDF supplied and non EDF supplied customers.(1)

As part of the sign-up process, please get together the following documents:
copy of your electricity bill (if you are already supplied by EDF energy you do not need to provide this)
Once you've signed up, one of our team will be in touch to set you up and check any details.
Once registered on the plan we'll be in touch for the first export read if you're not set up to do this automatically. After this first read, it will then be quarterly until your plan ends.
These are a variable rate which means the price of your energy could go up or down. If this happens, we'll give you advanced written notice so that you can switch to a different tariff or supplier if you wish.
If you're already registered for one our SEG tariffs, we'll send you a reminder when your reading or contract is due. The reminder will advise you what reads are required and what you need to do. We'll then check all the details, validate your meter reading(s) and make a payment in accordance with your terms and conditions.

The Export Tariffs set out above are variable and subject to change. EDF will give you advance written notice of the changes and update the prices on this website. The tariffs above are valid from 22nd July 2022.
