Securing Britain's low carbon future
Sizewell C, a proposed new nuclear power station in Suffolk, has the potential to generate the reliable low carbon electricity the country needs for decades to come. It will also make a lasting positive difference to the economy in the east of England.
We're currently in the third stage of public consultation with local communities in East Suffolk, providing an opportunity for residents to have their say. Their feedback, together with our technical assessments, will help shape our final proposals.
The project is being developed by EDF Energy, together with our long-standing partners CGN. Our joint experience of working together on a range of projects, including constructing two EPR reactors at Taishan in China, is bringing direct benefits to Hinkley Point C and will do the same for the Sizewell C project. Additionally, this partnership has plans to develop Bradwell B in Essex.

The proposals we're presenting have been shaped through feedback received from two previous stages of public consultation, on-going engagement with stakeholders, and substantial technical assessments and environmental studies.
Consultation has played an important role in informing and developing our plans and we would encourage you to play an active part in the Stage 3 consultation as some significant choices are presented and your feedback will inform our proposals.
