Unleashing the Kraken for EDF’s small business customers

You may have heard – we’re on a mission to transform our retail business

We’re continuously investing in the way we produce low carbon electricity and how we can deliver an effortless service for our customers. That’s why we’re updating our systems to transform the way we service our 5 million+ business and home customers. We’re in the process of seamlessly moving all our customers over to Kraken – a well trusted platform designed specifically for utility companies. 

The system and how we’ll use it at EDF will help small business customers save time and money - you can expect even easier account management and effortless service. 

Our Small Business Director, Jon Perks gives an update on progress so far:

We’re ready to migrate more small business customers onto the new platform. I say more, because we already have a number of our small business customers operating on the platform to ensure everything is working as expected. I’m pleased to report that things have been going really well, and we’re now ready to move the remainder of our small business customers across to Kraken.

The migration programme will take a few months to complete, and if you’re currently a small business supplied by EDF, we’ll contact you when it’s your turn. You shouldn’t need to do much, if anything, as part of the transfer process. We aim to make the process as effortless as possible, but we have an amazing team of energy specialists ready to take your call if you have any issues. Ahead of your migration, you’ll get an email detailing all the key information you’ll need.

I’m now in my 21st year working at EDF, and we’ve completed several large-scale customer migrations over this period. To date, this has been the most successful migration I’ve witnessed, and I’m incredibly proud of all the teams involved in ensuring our customers are transferred safely onto the new platform.

Moving our small business customers to the Kraken system will make life easier for us all and create extra time for our teams to discuss what else we can do to help our customers transition towards our Net Zero future. I’m excited to share more about this in the near future—stay tuned!
