Moving into your new business property? No need to phone us, just watch this video and follow these 3 easy steps:

Step 1: Get a meter reading

Take a meter reading on the day you take responsibility for a new property. 

This guide is useful for learning how to read a meter if you're unsure.

Step 2: Gather your documents

Provide one legal document:

  • Lease Agreement
  • Completion Statement

And

  • Current photo of the meter

In the case where the previous occupier has an outstanding balance or has longer than 6 months outstanding on their contract with us, we may request additional documentation to support the change of tenancy request. This will normally be in the form of a Business Rates Letter, although in some cases we may also ask for a Solicitors Letter.

Step 3: Email us

Send all documents to BM@edfenergy.com.

And that's it!

We'll email you within 10 working days to confirm you're all set up. 

Here's a checklist to make sure you have everything we need:

  • Move in date
  • Business name
  • Opening meter reading
  • Forwarding address for previous occupier
  • Documents

Step 1: Get a meter reading

Take a meter reading on the last day you're responsible for the property. 

This guide is useful for learning how to read a meter if you're unsure. 

Step 2: Gather your documents

Provide one legal document:

  • Surrender of lease
  • Completion Statement

And

  • Current photo of the meter

In the case where your outstanding balance is more than £500 or your current contract has longer than 6 months outstanding with us, we may request additional documentation to support the change of tenancy request. This will normally be in the form of a Public Liability Insurance Document, although in some cases we may also ask for a Solicitors Letter.
 

 

Step 3: Email us

Send all documents to BM@edfenergy.com.

And that's it!

We'll email you within 10 working days to confirm you're all set up.
