By Talk Power Team | Posted June 05, 2017

Today we are pleased to announce the great news that EDF Energy Services, a joint venture between EDF Energy and Dalkia, has agreed to acquire Imtech Group.

Who are Imtech?

Imtech is one of the largest independently owned and managed technical service providers in the UK and Ireland. It provides services to capital projects, with strong design and build capabilities, operations and maintenance, and automation and control.  Its activities include engineering services, systems integration, technical facilities management and low-carbon solutions. Its customers include the BBC’s Media City, Heathrow airport, the University of Lincoln and numerous rail development projects such as the renovation of London Bridge station.

This exciting acquisition contributes to the successful delivery of our long term strategy, strengthening our reach within the UK and accelerating the development of energy services, responding to market trends and new technologies.

The combined expertise of EDF Energy, Dalkia and Imtech UK and Ireland will enable us to apply the latest technologies and offer innovative services that will help our customers make the most of their energy resources. Imtech will retain its operational autonomy within EDF Energy Services and our long term strategy continues to deliver a great service for our customers.

Of the acquisition, Vincent de Rivaz, CEO EDF Energy said: “As the UKs leading generator of low carbon electricity and a major supplier to businesses, the addition of Imtech is a significant step in the development of energy services and low carbon solutions for our valued customers. This agreement is a key element of our strategy for long-term growth and investment, and a further demonstration of our commitment and support for British businesses and industries.

“We are delighted to welcome the 2,100 employees of Imtech. There is a close fit between the two businesses with our shared passion for safety, innovation, digital solutions and quality of service for customers.”
