Budget Direct Debit (regular monthly payments): can I get a refund if I'm in credit?
We can give you the answer for your type of account, once we know what your account number starts with. You can find your account number in MyAccount, and on your EDF bills, emails and letters.
My account number starts with '67'
It's normal for your account to be in credit at various times throughout the year. In fact it's the credit (and debit) on your account that allows you to spread you payments evenly over the year.
If you have credit on your account at the end of your Direct Debit year, we simply roll it into your next payments. Or we give you an automatic refund if you have £150 credit or more (as long as we got a meter reading ahead of your end-of year review).
But you can also apply for a credit refund (you'll need to give us a meter reading to bring your account right up to date).
Please be aware that if we give you a refund, you could end up with higher future payments and debt.
