Why do I have a power cut when the weather is fine?

The weather only causes around 40% of annual power cuts in the UK which is why you could lose supply at any time of the year.

Often power cuts are caused by other companies causing damage to the underground and overhead cables but this can also be caused by trees, falling branches and, in some instances, animals damaging the cables.

If you are experiencing regular power cuts you should contact your local electricity network provider for more information.

Please refer to the list on our website for the relevant number for your area.
