Fix your prices for greater peace of mind

If you're worried about future price rises, join our 1.6m customers who've locked in their prices on a fixed tariff. While fixed tariffs may be more expensive than Standard (Variable) at the moment, they do protect against future price rises and may help you save long term. Signing up to our GoElectric fixed tariff, designed especially for electric car drivers, means you'll know how much you’re paying for energy and that it won’t change for the term of your contract, even if energy prices continue to rise.

Your GoElectric EV tariff questions answered

Do I need to have a smart meter?

You don't need to have a smart meter to sign up to our single-rate GoElectric EV tariff. You do need to have a smart meter to sign up to one of our EV tariffs with off-peak rates: GoElectric 35 and GoElectric 98.

Your smart meter tells how much electricity you're using during peak and off-peak hours, which is how we work out what your bill should be.

If you're an existing EDF customer you can book a smart meter appointment through MyAccount.

How can I tell which meter I have?

Don't worry, we'll check which meter you have when you get a quote.

What happens if I don't have a compatible smart meter?

If you don't have a compatible smart meter that we can connect to, we'll sign you up to our GoElectric single-rate tariff. Once you have a smart meter you can switch to a GoElectric tariff with off-peak rates: GoElectric 35 and GoElectric 98.

How long will it take for me to get a smart meter installed?

It takes 2 to 4 weeks to get a smart meter once you've signed up to one of our GoElectric tariffs. Occasionally this may take a little longer, depending on where you live.

If you're an existing EDF customer you can book a smart meter appointment through MyAccount.

How much will it cost to fully charge my electric vehicle?

  • you're on our GoElectric 35 tariff with cheaper overnight electricity between 12am and 5am (GMT) daily
