This is the car for you if… you’ve been eagerly awaiting MINI’s all-new electric car.
The new fully electric MINI is here. The legendary Cooper 3-Door Hatch has been given a revamp for 2020. MINI’s playful spirit and iconic shape live on. But there’s an all-new electric motor powering your drive and fun new design features.
Look out for the yellow accents that give the MINI Electric standout on the road. The sporty interior with striped seats and a leather steering wheel. And the updated shape of the front and rear bumpers.
The MINI Electric Level 1 comes with a whole host of creature comforts as standard – like automatic dual zone air conditioning. Then there’s the new tech on board. A digital display cockpit, with handy info on battery range and charging status. An all-new electric handbrake. And the MINI Navigation System, which doesn’t just get you from A to B. But flags up nearby public charging stations and keeps you up-to-date on traffic conditions.
None of the traits that make the MINI such a fun car to drive have been compromised in the move to electric. There’s the same responsive handling behind the wheel. It zips along straight roads. Swings tightly around corners. And there’s instant acceleration when you put your foot down – the MINI Electric whizzes from 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds.
There’s a 32.6kWh battery on board, giving you a WLTP range of 145 miles. It makes the MINI Electric the ideal car for nipping around town. Popping out on short trips. Or commuting to and from work.
The MINI Electric comes with two handy charging points on board. There’s AC for easy home charging. So you can fully recharge the battery using a home wall charger in just over 3 hours. And a DC charging point for super-fast charging on the go.
MINI’s also packed in lots of clever features to maximise your car’s battery life. There are two levels of power regeneration. So you can choose how much automatic braking to allow. A heat pump to warm up the cabin using excess heat from the motor instead of drawing on battery reserves. And there’s pre-conditioning too. So you can warm up or cool the car down before you set off. Minimising the demand on the battery for heat and air conditioning while you travel.
Our three favourite MINI Electric features
- Make the MINI Electric your own by mix and matching your choice of paint shade and alloy wheels.
- Use the MINI Connected app on chilly mornings to warm up the car remotely. So it’s toasty inside by the time you set off.
- While other manufacturers have chosen blue to denote their electric credentials, MINI has gone for yellow accents. It’s another feature that helps the MINI Electric stand out from the crowd.
You’ll like the MINI Electric if you… want all the traits of the iconic MINI – but powered by electric.
