Why you can get an estimated bill when you pay by Card, Cash or Cheque (Monthly)
We can give you the answer for your type of account, once we know what your account number starts with. You can find your account number in MyAccount, and on your EDF bills, emails and letters.
My account number starts with '67'
We send you 12 bills a year when you pay by Card, Cash or Cheque (monthly). The number of estimated bills you get will depend on the meter readings you give us.
And the number of meter reading reminders you get depends on whether or not we have your email address or mobile phone number.

We'll ask you for a meter reading each month so we can give you an accurate monthly bill.
If we don't get your reading on time, we'll send you an estimated bill.
We don't have an email address or mobile phone number for you
We'll send you a meter reading reminder by post every three months.
That means two out of every three bills you get will be estimated. The third bill will be accurate if we get your meter reading on time.
This should be enough to keep your payments in line with your energy use.
But you can always send us a meter reading just after getting an estimated bil. We'll cancel it, and send you a new bill based on your meter reading.
