Will I need to pay an exit fee if I cancel my EDF Energy tariff?
You need to pay your tariff's exit fee if you cancel your tariff with more than three months to go on your contract.
You don't have to pay the exit fee if your tariff is due to end within the next three months, or if you cancel within the 14-day cooling off period when you first sign up.
Not all tariffs have an exit fee. Dual fuel tariffs have one exit fee for electricity and one for gas.
Find out if your tariff has an exit fee:
- Go to tariff details in MyAccount (you need to sign in/register) - your electricity and/or gas tariff information label tells you if your tariff has an exit fee, how much it is, and when your contract ends
- Go to our tariff information booklets - select your tariff's booklet to see if you have an exit fee, and how much this is
- Get in touch with one of our customer service advisors using the green Chat button on the right.
