We want to make our customer’s new electricity connection as simple as possible. For homes and small businesses, we have developed a four stage process to ensure we provide your connection in a timely and cost effective manner.

You can make a full electronic application if you are able to attach your plans as a TIF file. Click the link to the right to setup/login to your account.

Our range of services includes: 

  • Alterations to your existing electricity connection 
  • Up to 4 new electricity connections including temporary builders supplies  
  • Upgrades if you require more power  
  • Bracket moves  
  • Earthing                                                                                                                                                               

Please be aware that we do not undertake all of these services in all parts of our network area. We also do not carry out work inside your property so, for questions relating to your consumer unit or internal wiring, you will need to contact your own qualified electrician.

When you require more complex work for your home, business or new development we need to carry out detailed planning before we can provide you with a quotation. 

If you only need to move the incoming electricity cable (up to 72 kVA or 3 phase 100amp) in your home or business there is no need to fill in an application form.

 

Once we have reviewed your connection request we will arrange a site visit appointment for a site technician to visit. You can contact us by calling our Design Centre on 0845 243 0040.

We ask that you:

Make sure you, or someone who has the authority to act on your behalf, is at the property at the agreed time.

 

Any customer can request a formal quotation and normally will receive a quotation within 3 months of their completed application (i.e on provision of required information).

We will try to provide you with a quotation for the work we need to carry out when we visit your property. We can take your payment in full, by credit or debit card, at the site visit. If this is not possible we ask that you pay in full within 90 days. We cannot provide you with a work date until full payment has been made.

We ask that you:

Inform us of any work that you would like us to carry out at the earliest opportunity. It is not possible to carry out service alterations on an emergency basis. We need as much notice as possible to programme your works and obtain any necessary local authority consents.

 

Once payment is received in full we will contact you with a date to carry out your works.

We ask that you:

Advise us immediately if you need to change the works to be carried out.

Carry out the preparatory works as specified, including obtaining a BS7671 Certificate where required.

Small Services Connections are priced to reflect our costs of doing the work.The price will vary depending on the area your property is located in, the service you need and any additional works such as moving an existing electricity meter (which will be carried out by your electricity supplier), additional trenching, additional roadworks when we need to excavate in the road or footpath to lay or reach existing cables etc.

For this reason we send a site technician to meet you and to survey the job. Our site technician will check the location of where we can connect to our electricity network and offer advice about what we will do and what you or your contractor will need to do. We will then give you a (firm) quotation for the job and take payment if you wish to proceed.
