Jim Crawford, Station Director, Sizewell B Power Station
Jim joined the South of Scotland Electricity Board (SSEB) as a graduate trainee based in East Kilbride in 1979 having completed a degree in Chemistry at Strathclyde University. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Chartered Chemist.
After several years with the SSEB’s Technical Services Division working on several plant and environmentally based projects Jim was appointed to a role at Torness Power Station in 1984. After filling several roles in Chemistry, Executive Support and Training, Jim was appointed Business Support Manager at Hinkley Point B in 1999 where he completed his MBA. Jim worked at Hinkley for 2 years until his appointment as Technical Training Manager based at British Energy’s head office in Barnwood.
Jim returned to Torness Power Station as Operations Manager in August 2005. He moved to the role of Plant Manager at Sizewell B Power Station in May 2008 and became Station Director in February 2010.
