As one of our Sustainability Commitments, EDF Energy has committed to engaging with all of our suppliers to promote the high standards of human rights, labour standards, ethical conduct and environmental management enshrined within the ten principles of the UN Global Compact.
We made this commitment both in recognition of the inherent social and environmental risks within our supply chain, and understanding the many benefits that working with our suppliers on sustainability can deliver.
Sustainable supply chain management can be a strong driver of value and success; for EDF Energy, our suppliers, and for society. By learning and sharing information and experiences together with our suppliers, we hope to establish closer and more durable supply chain relationships.
In support of our commitment, we have developed a UNGC Practical Guide for Suppliers (PDF) to educate suppliers about the Compact; communicate our assessment process; and to identify practical steps suppliers can take to demonstrate compliance.
