The HR and Communications Industrial Placement will support HR Business Partners and in their partnerships with designated line managers, helping to provide professional advice and direction, commercial HR solutions and operational support. Industrial Placements may also support Communications Consultants in the delivery of internal communications with staff members, and the building of relationships with the local community via effective communications.
By the end of the year, you should know for sure whether this is the company you want to build your career in. If it is, you’ll soon have the chance to start by applying for a place on an EDF Energy Graduate Programme.
Most of what you learn will be on the job, with support from your mentor and the teams you work in. Some Industrial Placements come with opportunities for further technical training as needed.

When you’ve chosen the right scheme for you, start by registering with our application system and completing our online application. It asks for some key information (contact details, qualifications, work experience, your motivation for applying to EDF Energy) plus some competency-based questions to give us an early idea of how well you might get on working here. You'll have the chance to explain to us why you want a career with EDF Energy – so please be as clear and specific about this as you can.

If we like the look of your application, we’ll ask you to complete some online numerical and logical reasoning tests. Bear in mind that you might find yourself taking these tests again under more controlled conditions as part of stage 4, so this is good preparation for you as well as being insightful for us.
It’s not always easy to convey your best qualities and experiences in an online form. Get through the online stages and you’ll have the chance to tell us more about yourself during a short telephone interview. As well as giving more evidence of the skills and qualities we’re looking for, you’ll be able to show us you’ve given careful thought to your career choice.
Impress us over the phone and you'll be invited to our assessment centre. Here you'll take part in various exercises designed to show us whether you have the behaviours to be a hit on our Industrial Placements. We'll get to see how well you approach tasks, deal with issues and work with others. You'll get to learn more about us, our culture, our people and our programmes.
If everything goes well through these stages, we’ll make you an offer as soon as possible after the assessment centre. If you accept, congratulations on the official start of a very exciting and rewarding career with EDF Energy.
