1 Not all properties will be suitable for insulation. You will not be eligible for free insulation if you already have pre-existing cavity wall insulation, loft insulation that’s more than 60mm thick, or if we’re unable to insulate at least two thirds of the total loft surface or wall cavities. If you have a large or non-standard property, or if we need to use specialist systems or equipment to carry out the work then there will be a charge, but you’ll be told about this when the survey is done. We may be unable to offer free insulation in some areas, including most postcodes in the Isles and northern Scotland, all of Northern Ireland, and other non-mainland Britain areas. We’ll let you know if this is the case when you apply. Free insulation offer only available for applications made by 31 March 2012. Please note that due to high demand you may experience a delay in insulation installation and to avoid delivery issues this offer will be reviewed if the number of applications made exceeds 200,000.

* Savings information provided by the Energy Saving Trust. Savings based on a typical three-bedroom semi-detached gas heated house with an annual gas consumption of 18,700kWh, with an average gas price of 4.49p/KwH and an electricity price of 14.39p/KwH; correct as of September 2011 and valid for 2011-12. Actual savings achieved will vary depending on type, age, main heating fuel of your home or if you choose to take increased warmth following installation of the measures.

** £40 based on the annual bill of a customer with typical consumption taking their electricity on EDF Energy’s current Standard tariff and their gas on British Gas’ current standard tariff instead taking both fuels from EDF Energy and receiving EDF Energy’s Dual Fuel discount of £8.40 per year, based on current prices as at 10th November 2011. Because other suppliers may offer Dual Fuel discounts or other Dual Fuel benefits, taking both fuels from the same supplier can be a cheaper way of buying energy and so EDF Energy encourages customers to consider taking a Dual Fuel tariff, whether from EDF Energy or from another supplier.

+ Saving shown is based on a customer with a typical annual consumption of 3,300kWh of electricity and 16,500kWh of gas, paying by monthly Direct Debit for both, and rounded down to the nearest pound. The monthly Direct Debit discount is 6% off your gas and electricity bills, which is credited quarterly, and is calculated before any other discounts and VAT is applied. Not all products (i.e. certain fixed and online products) are eligible for the 6% monthly Direct Debit discount.

^ Claim based on a comparison of the national average of all EDF Energy’s regional Standard domestic gas and electricity bills at typical consumption with the national average of the regional Standard domestic gas and electricity bills of other major suppliers^^. Typical consumption is 3,300kWh of electricity and 16,500kWh of gas per year. Based on most recent price increases implemented by major suppliers and EDF Energy’s price change effective 10th November 2011.

^^ When we refer to ’major suppliers’ or ’major energy suppliers’, we mean EDF Energy, British/Scottish Gas, E.On Energy, Npower, Scottish & Southern Energy and Scottish Power.
