EDF ranked in the Top 10 in The Sunday Times’ ‘Best Places to Work 2026’ for the second year running
EDF’s UK Customers Business has been ranked among the Sunday Times’ Top 10 ‘Best places to work 2026’ in the Very Big Organisation (2000+ employees) category.
The nationwide award recognises more than 500 leading employers across the UK, spanning organisations of all sizes. Rankings are based on an independent employee survey developed by WorkL assessing employee engagement, health and wellbeing and their willingness to go above and beyond. Companies are assessed against the Sunday Times’ Six Key Steps to Employee Engagement, including Reward & Recognition, Wellbeing and Empowerment. In all areas, EDF scored above the energy and utilities sector average.
With one of the highest engagement scores in its category, EDF Customers repeated its Top 10 ranking from 2025 and has reinforced its ongoing commitment to employee experience. To add to our success, EDF Customers have been awarded Highly Commended in the Best Places to Work for disabled employees.
This continued success reflects EDF’s refreshed Zero Harm approach, which recognises the equal importance of mental and physical wellbeing. Built around four key pillars - leadership, learning, prevention and enabling everyone to thrive – Zero Harm places people at the heart of EDF’s wellbeing strategy, supporting employees both in and outside the workplace.
Philippe Commaret, Managing Director of EDF Customers, commented: “To be recognised as a Top 10 Very Big Organisation in The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work 2026 for the second consecutive year is a fantastic achievement and a real credit to our people. Putting our employees first and creating a supportive, inclusive environment enables us to deliver the best possible service for our customers.”
EDF’s strong performance is underpinned by consistently high levels of employee engagement and recognition, measured through Officevibe.
During the past year, 42 EDF managers have featured in the top 10% of all managers engaging with Officevibe worldwide, highlighting the strength of EDF’s employee–manager relationships. In addition, nearly 10,000 internal recognition messages were shared by colleagues through Goodvibes in Q1 of 2026 alone, placing EDF second globally among organisations using Officevibe. Together, these results reflect a culture that empowers people, recognises individual contributions and enables employees to thrive at work.
The continued engagement with and expansion of EDF’s Employee Networks has also been instrumental in fostering a supportive and welcoming workplace community. Enabling EDF’s employees to be comfortable being themselves at work not only supports their health and mental wellbeing but also ensures that EDF remains a great place to work.

About EDF
EDF is driving the transition towards An Electric Britain – a secure, affordable, low-carbon future for everyone. As Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity, we are investing more than £100 million weekly in Britain’s electricity infrastructure. We supply millions of customers with electricity and help homes and businesses switch to electricity for heating, transport and industrial processes.
We operate five nuclear power stations and more than 35 onshore wind farms and three offshore wind farms. Since 2009, EDF has invested almost £9 billion in the nuclear fleet to improve reliability and extend station lifetimes. The five generating stations currently supply about 12% of the UK’s electricity demand.
EDF is building the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C. We are a minority investor (12.5%) in and major supplier to a replica plant at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C will provide low carbon electricity to meet 14% of UK demand and power around 12 million homes. EDF Group companies Framatome and Arabelle Solutions have a presence in the UK and manufacture critical equipment such as reactor pressure vessels and turbines.
EDF is enabling its 5 million customers, both in business and at home, to choose electric solutions that save cash and carbon, whether it is buying an electric car, generating and storing electricity, selling energy back to the grid or installing solar panels or a heat pump. In 2025, EDF’s Customers business was ranked as one of the Sunday Times’s Best Place to Work.
It is also one of the UK’s leading developers of renewable energy through EDF power solutions UK and Ireland. We have more than 2GW of renewable generation in operation and over 10GW in construction, planning and development across a range of technologies including onshore and offshore wind, solar and battery storage.
We are one of the largest suppliers to British business and a leading supplier of innovative energy solutions that are helping businesses become more energy independent. In addition, the company’s energy services business, Dalkia, is one of the UK and Ireland’s largest technical service providers.
