EDF offers free seven-year service and warranty on Air Source Heat Pumps

EDF is helping more households make the switch to low-carbon heating this summer with a new limited-time offer on air source heat pumps.
Customers who buy a heat pump via EDF will get free seven-year servicing and warranty package worth £750, providing them with added peace of mind and long-term value when upgrading their home’s heating system.
Following the update to the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) on 21st July 2026 to support households hoping to make the switch away from oil and LPG, customers are now able to install an EDF heat pump from as little as £4,100.1
Making the switch to a low-carbon home
With demand for low-carbon heating expected to grow as winter approaches, EDF is encouraging homeowners to act now and secure their installation ahead of the seasonal rush.
The free seven-year service and warranty package covers whichever heat pump manufacturer customers select as part of the installation, providing them with added peace of mind and helping them to reduce the ongoing costs of owning a heat pump.2
EDF customer saves £600 per month with low-carbon home
Steve, an EDF customer from Somerset, has already made the switch from oil and says replacing his oil powered heating and hot water system with a heat pump was “the best thing he did”. Alongside his installation of a heat pump, he paired it with a substantial solar panel installation, making his home low-carbon.
He said: “Our home was previously heated by oil, so we wanted a more efficient and predictable energy solution. I estimate I’m now saving around £600 per month when accounting for avoided oil purchases, no longer needing my log burner, and factoring in the export from solar generation offsetting against the cost of running our heat pump. This includes powering two EVs too!
“Working with EDF was great; they coordinated the installation of both the heat pump and solar to make sure they worked together. We wanted to create a house that was self-sufficient, and that’s exactly what we’ve ended up doing!”

Air Source Heat Pumps can save £146 per year on bills
Air source heat pumps are typically 300-400% more efficient than a standard gas boiler, making them one of the most effective ways for households to reduce both their energy use and carbon emissions.3 According to the Energy Saving Trust, replacing an A-rated gas boiler with a standard air source heat pump in an average three-bedroom semi-detached home can reduce a household’s carbon footprint by around 13.4%.4
A customer switching from a highly efficient 94% gas boiler to an air source heat pump with a seasonal coefficient of performance of 3.1 could save around £146 per year with EDF’s Heat Pump Tracker Tariff, compared with the current single-rate price cap tariff.5
EDF is also referring customers to Snugg for their Carbon Cashback programme, which gives eligible solar and heat pump customers the opportunity to be paid for the carbon savings generated by their installation. Customers on the scheme have the potential to receive Carbon Cashback payments of up to £2,000 over 10 years, subject to eligibility criteria and programme terms.6

6 Snugg’s Carbon Cashback programme is a project registered with Verra, the single biggest issuer of carbon credits globally. The methodology Snugg utilises has a project length of 5 years initially, followed by the possibility of two project period renewals of 5 years each. Therefore, the maximum possible crediting period for a single home is 15 years. 10 years is Snugg’s opinion of the most likely period a home enrolling in Carbon Cashback will be able to generate carbon credits and therefore receive payment. If you sell or let your home whilst enrolled in Carbon Cashback, you will no longer be able to generate carbon credits.
