EDF offers 4,000 free electric miles in Black Friday EV deal for UK drivers
EDF is marking Black Friday with a special offer for electric vehicle drivers: £100 account credit, equivalent of 4,000 free electric miles[i] , for anyone who signs up to its Pod Point Plug & Power EV tariff bundle before 30th November 2025.
The limited-time offer is available to new and existing EDF customers who choose the Plug & Power bundle, which combines a home EV charger with a fixed-rate electricity tariff designed for affordable overnight charging.
The ‘Pod Point Plug & Power’ tariff bundle includes the Pod Point Solo 3S home EV charger, available at a lower upfront cost of £499[ii] (RRP £999). The remaining cost is spread over the two-year tariff, offering a more affordable way to buy an electric vehicle charger, and simplifying the transition to electric driving.
Available as electricity only[iii], EDF's Plug & Power EV tariff bundle is fixed ensuring customers benefit from stable rates throughout their contract period, and is compatible with all electric vehicle makes and models.
The tariff comes with cheaper overnight electricity at 8.49p per kWh from 12am to 5am for both driver’s cars and homes and is fully backed by zero carbon electricity[iv].
“We know cost is one of the biggest barriers for customers switching to electric, so this Black Friday we’re offering customers nearly seven months of driving for free to use on anything from commuting, shopping, school runs and weekend trips.” said Rich Hughes, Director of Retail at EDF.
“Our Plug & Power tariff makes the switch to electric driving simpler and more affordable. By reducing the upfront cost of a home charger and offering cheaper overnight rates, we help households save money while they sleep - supporting Britain’s journey to a cleaner, electric future.”
Customers can sign up directly through EDF’s website. We'll then pass the details to Pod to complete the purchase of the Solo 3S EV charger for £499.
To be eligible, customers are required to have a smart meter and be opted into half-hourly meter readings.[v] The £100 credit will be applied to the customer’s account within 60 days of signing up to the tariff.
[i] 4,118 free miles is based on an EV achieving 3.5 miles per kWh and charging with an off-peak rate of 8.49p per kWh equals a £100 account credit. See offer and Pod Point Plug & Power's terms and conditions. Exit fees apply if you cancel the tariff within two years. Offer ends 30 November 2025.
[ii] Exit fees apply if you cancel the tariff within two years. See Pod Point's terms and conditions and our tariff terms and conditions for more details.
[iii] This tariff applies to electricity only. Customers may also transfer their gas supply to us on a Standard Variable Tariff or any other non-EV tariff.
[iv] More details about how EDF are Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity can be found here. Our fixed home energy tariffs are backed yearly by 100% zero carbon nuclear electricity as standard. The UK fuel mix disclosure information published by the government (DESNZ) recognises electricity generated from wind, solar and nuclear produces zero carbon dioxide emissions at the point of generation. The zero-carbon electricity purchased is supplied to the National Grid. Customers receive electricity via the National Grid, not directly from zero-carbon generators.
