Step 3
Lead times may vary for different installers, but don’t worry - you’ll receive regular updates, and it won’t be long before your home is fully transformed!
What upgrades are covered by the ECO4 scheme?
As ECO4 offers a whole house approach for the improvements, you must receive all the upgrades(1), not just one.
Solar panels
Adding solar panels to your home means you can start generating your own electricity and save cash and carbon! Please note batteries are not included in the ECO4 package.
Insulation
Homes without insulation can lose a third of their heat through walls and a quarter through the roof. By insulating your home, you’ll keep it warmer, save on energy bills, avoid damp and mould, and lower your carbon footprint.
Air source heat pumps
ECO4 allows you to upgrade your heating system to a more efficient air source heat pump. Heat pumps are 300% more efficient than standard gas boilers, help reduce your carbon footprint, and keep your home warm and fuzzy.
FAQs about the ECO4 Scheme
Do I have to pay for the upgrades?
If you and the property are eligible, then the upgrades will be free.(1)
What if I don't want all the upgrades and want only one?
The energy efficiency experts at EDF Heat Pumps will suggest which solutions are required. All recommendations will need to be installed to meet the scheme rules.(1)
Can I receive the ECO grant and choose my installer?
The ECO scheme is not a grant scheme. Payments are made directly to the installer based on the work completed in your home. EDF only uses installers that meet the accreditation requirements set by the government.
This means that all the work carried out will be to a high standard, making sure the improvements help you make your home more efficient for the long term.
Why do I need to have ventilation measures installed in my property?
Proper airflow is essential when insulating a property, so ventilation measures may need to be installed. We’ll cover the cost of this.
Who do I contact if I have a query or complaint about my installation?
In the first instance, you should contact the installer directly. If you're unsatisfied with their response or unable to resolve the issue, please contact the EDF Eco team at ECO@EDFHeatPump.co.uk
I need to reschedule an appointment I have booked with the installer. How do I do this?
Please get in touch with your allocated installer directly to rearrange your appointment. Please try and give 48 hours notice.
How do I find out if I have an EPC and what the rating is?
