Why estimated bills happen
Billing cycles follow fixed dates, so if your reading is sent too early in the cycle, it may not be used for that month’s invoice – and an estimated bill will be generated instead.
It’s not about whether you submit a meter reading – it’s about when.

The 25-30 rule
As a general rule, if you submit your meter reading between 25th and 30th each month, you’ll avoid an estimated bill. This is the safest window to make sure your actual reading is used for your upcoming invoice.
