EDF offers six months of ‘free miles’ on fixed EV tariff bundle
EDF is excited to announce it is offering £100 to anyone who signs up to its Pod Point Plug & Power EV tariff bundle, the equivalent of 4,000 free electric miles, allowing customers to drive for six months for free, or take five return trips from London to Edinburgh1.
The limited time offer is available to both new and existing customers who sign up to the electric vehicle (EV) home charger and tariff bundle before the end of April.
Unlike many providers, EDF's Plug & Power EV tariff bundle, available as electricity only or dual fuel2, is fixed, ensuring customers benefit from stable rates throughout their contract period, at a time when energy prices are continuing to rise.
The unique ‘Pod Point Plug & Power’ tariff bundle includes the Pod Point Solo 3S home EV charger, available at a lower upfront cost of £4993 (RRP £1,099). The remaining cost is spread over the two-year tariff, making it easier for customers to manage typically high upfront costs, and simplifying their journey to electric driving.
Backed by zero carbon electricity4, the tariff comes with cheaper off-peak electricity from 12am-5am at 8.49p/kWh for both customers cars and homes, so they can save money whilst they sleep.
Rich Hughes, Director of Retail at EDF, said: “The price cap can go up and down by hundreds of pounds per year, so it’s well worth considering a fixed tariff to lock in your prices. Our Pod Point Plug & Power is a great option for drivers that are new to electric driving especially, as not only is it fixed, saving against the cap and avoiding risk, it offers significant savings on the upfront cost of a charger. For a limited time only customers can get £100 when they sign up saving them even more cash, as well as carbon by making the switch.”
Customers can sign up on EDF’s website who will then forward the necessary details to Pod Point in order for them to purchase the Solo 3S EV charger for £499. The Solo 3S includes standard installation and comes with a 5-year warranty. Additionally, the Pod Point app allows users to manage their home charging conveniently from their phone.
Eligibility requires customers to have a smart meter and be opted into half-hourly meter readings. EDF will credit £100 to the customer's account within 60 days of signing up to the tariff.

Our fixed home energy tariffs are backed yearly by 100% zero carbon nuclear electricity as standard. The UK fuel mix disclosure information published by the government (DESNZ) recognises electricity generated from wind, solar and nuclear produces zero carbon dioxide emissions at the point of generation. The zero-carbon electricity purchased is supplied to the National Grid. Customers receive electricity via the National Grid, not directly from zero-carbon generators.
