Hinkley Point Visitor Centre

At our Hinkley Point Visitor Centre, visitors are encouraged to explore how electricity is created in a fun and interactive way.

People of all ages can learn why there is an overwhelming need to produce low carbon energy and how EDF is helping Britain achieve net zero through the construction of Hinkley Point C and the use of other renewable sources such as wind and solar power.

Let us take you on a virtual tour of the construction site where you can interact with a map of site or just watch our drone footage as it navigates around Big Carl, the world's largest crane!

Watch our interactive 360 degree video

Explore Hinkley Point C

Hinkley Point C nuclear power station is currently under construction and is the first nuclear power station to be built in the UK in a generation. During construction, 25,000 jobs and 1,000 apprenticeships will be created, as well as 900 jobs during operation. The twin unit UK EPR reactors will be capable of generating 3,260MW of secure, low-carbon electricity for 60 years.

Education and skills

We offer a range of free and innovative activities including hands-on STEM workshops, curriculum-linked teaching resources, assemblies and events for Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 – to help young people take advantage of the huge opportunities that the construction and operation of Hinkley Point C has to offer.

Explore Hinkley Point B

Hinkley Point B is a nuclear power station in Somerset which has been providing the UK with low-carbon electricity 1976. The station, which includes two Advanced Gas-cooled Reactors, was the first of its kind to generate electricity to the grid in the UK.
