- EDF will supply Whitbread with approx. 340 GWhs of energy from wind and solar energy
EDF, Britain’s biggest supplier of zero carbon electricity, has signed a 3-year supply agreement with Whitbread PLC, the UK’s leading hospitality business, which operates some of the UK’s most recognised brands, including Premier Inn.
Through providing expert advice and energy management, EDF will help Whitbread optimise its energy use and further reduce its environmental footprint.
Over the next 36 months, EDF will supply clean, renewable energy to Whitbread’s recognised brands, enjoyed by millions across the UK. The zero-carbon electricity will be certified to provide assurance of its renewable status from wind and solar sources, and this energy partnership reflects a shared vision for a sustainable, net zero future.
Whitbread knows the scale of its operation and the significant impact it can have on the environment and the communities in which they operate. For this reason, they have set themselves strong commitments within their Force for Good Sustainability programme. Raghav Singh, Director of Large Business at EDF Business Solutions, said: “We’re excited to work with Whitbread as their energy provider, reinforcing our position as a low carbon energy partner of choice to market leading organisations. We look forward to building on this new partnership, supporting Whitbread in their net zero ambitions.”
