The tariff consists of three pricing rates every day, which are:

  1. A day unit rate based on the Standard tariff rate in your region
  2. Heat Pump & Save Tracker rate between 4am–7am and 1pm4pm. During these hours, you get a discount of 10p/kWh off the Standard tariff rate in your region
  3. No daily standing charge. That's right, zilch, nada, nothing!

Our Heat Pump & Save Tracker tariff offers a flexible pricing model that adjusts to Ofgem's Price Cap, which is influenced by the wholesale energy costs. This means the unit rates are reviewed every three months and can change, but your 10p discount remains the same.

There are no exit fees or tie-ins, so if our Heat Pump & Save Tracker tariff doesn't work for you, you can switch to another supplier or tariff anytime.

What will my energy usage look like?

The table below provides you with an example of what your energy usage could look like.

Please note: If you're switching from another heating system, like a gas boiler to an electric heat pump, your energy consumption will change, making it hard to estimate your annual costs. However, if you're interested in this tariff, our dedicated energy specialists can help you understand your potential costs and answer any questions over the phone.

FAQs about the Heat Pump & Save Tracker tariff

A typical customer can save £363 per year versus the current single-rate price cap tariff. This is based on the following;

£164 of savings are based on a customer using Ofgem’s typical domestic consumption of 2700 kWh electricity and with heating provided by an air source heat pump with a coefficient of performance (CoP) of 3.1 providing equivalent heat to that from a 94% gas boiler using 11,500 kWh of gas. A further £199.83 of savings based on 0p per day electricity standing charge based on the Q4 Ofgem price cap using a regional average. Total saving of £164 + £199 = £363 Could we also update the saving under the heat pump and save tracker to be £363.

You’ll need a smart meter that communicates with us continuously so we can sign you up to our Heat Pump & Save Tracker tariff and bill you based on your half-hourly meter readings. This helps us bill you correctly, as your tariff provides two periods of discounted electricity.

No, this tariff is for electricity only, as it's linked to your air source heat pump.

Yes, this tariff offers flexibility. The price may change based on Ofgem's Price Cap, which is determined by wholesale energy prices.

There are no exit fees or tie-ins, so if our Heat Pump & Save Tracker tariff doesn’t work for you, you’re free to switch to another supplier or tariff at any time.

You'll need to pay by Direct Debit to access this tariff but keep in mind that the amount you pay each month isn’t set in stone. If your energy usage increases, your Direct Debit amount will go up.

We understand this is frustrating, but as we don’t own the in-home display (IHD) technology, we can't control how the rates are displayed.

Because you're on a half-hourly rate tariff, it functions differently from a two-rate tariff. In a two-rate setup, the meter has preset times, and the IHD updates instantly. But with a half-hourly tariff, the meter checks every half hour whether it's peak or off-peak and then sends that information to the IHD, which can cause a delay of up to an hour. As a result, the rates displayed may not be entirely accurate.

After signing up for this tariff, you'll start saving straight away. Boost your heat pump during the cheap rate times to save even more!

  • Set a heating schedule to take advantage of the lower rates each day
  • Turn on your water heater during the cheaper times to save on electricity
  • Increase your heating by raising your thermostat during these hours, allowing your heat pump to work less during peak times.

Don't worry, your heat pump doesn't need to be installed before the offer ends. As long as you've paid your deposit by 30 September 2025 and your installation takes place before 31 December 2025, you'll be eligible for the offer.

To find out more out more about heat pump installations, visit our installation guide.

We understand there may be reasons why you might choose not to go ahead with a heat pump installation, and that’s perfectly fine. However, depending on when you decide to cancel, some costs may have already been incurred.

  • If you cancel after EDF Heat Pumps has completed the home site survey and heat loss survey, you'll get a refund, minus £500 for the work carried out.
  • If you cancel after we’ve completed the full design, the deposit will not be refunded.
  • If we determine that the installation isn’t suitable for your home, we’ll provide a full refund - that’s our Heat Pump Promise.

The Heat Pump Tracker is a tariff that's available for any customer who already has a heat pump installed. Your heat pump can be from any manufacturer.

The Heat Pump & Save Tracker is an exclusive tariff available to new customers who purchase a heat pump with us and pay their deposit between 1 April and 30 September 2025.

The Heat Pump & Power Tracker Tariff ended on 28 February. This tariff offered eligible customers seven years of free maintenance, warranty, and service for their heat pump, along with free electricity throughout December 2025.

On the other hand, with the Heat Pump & Save Tracker Tariff, you get the advantage of no standing charge - allowing you to save as soon as you join the tariff.

While both tariffs offer twice-daily discounts, the Heat Pump & Save Tracker Tariff eliminates the standing charge, giving you even more potential savings.
