Frequently asked questions

Who is eligible to claim this offer?

GoDrive tariff offer is valid between 1st July – 30th September 2021. Available to UK residents (excluding Northern Ireland).

To be eligible, you must have purchased (via Nissan Finance, Motability or cash) a new Nissan LEAF or e-NV200 from an authorised Nissan dealership between 1st July and 30th September 2021 and registered to EDF’s GoDrive tariff offer (valid to redeem) within 3 months of such purchase. Private and Motability customers only. Residential customers only.

To register, you must provide EDF with your contact details, and 7-digit vehicle order number which can be found on your Nissan purchase document. These details will be reconciled against Nissan sales data for the purposes of offer approval. Only one GoDrive tariff offer application may be made per qualifying Nissan LEAF or e-NV200 vehicle.

You must also have a compatible smart meter installed at your property. Once registered successfully, you will be entitled to five hours of off-peak electricity rates at 0p per kWh every day (between 12am to 5am GMT) for your car and home for the term of the tariff (as set out in your GoDrive tariff terms), subject to the fair use policy (4000kWh off-peak limit over the term of the tariff). Nissan or EDF reserve the right to vary or suspend the offer at any time. Full GoDrive tariff terms and conditions apply.

What happens if my order number is incorrect or doesn't work?

Order numbers will be validated with Nissan as part of the tariff sign up process. If your order number is incorrect, we’ll contact you to let you know within two calendar months and you’ll be moved onto our Standard (Variable) tariff. There are no exit fees on this tariff, and you’ll be backdated to the date you signed up to the GoDrive tariff.

Why do I need a smart meter?

Your smart meter tells us how much electricity you're using during peak and off-peak hours, so we can ensure you're billed correctly at the unique off-peak rates of 0p per kWh.

How can I tell what type of meter I have?

Don't worry that's for us to figure out. We’ll check this when you get a quote and let you know. If we need to install a compatible smart meter, we can sort this out for you as part of the switching process. This will depend on smart meter installation availability at the time.

What happens if I don't have a compatible smart meter?

If you don't already have a compatible smart meter, you can still sign up to the GoDrive Anytime (single-rate) tariff while you wait for your smart meter to be installed. You can book a smart meter installation through MyAccount. We'll also send you an email reminder to get your smart meter at this time. The average wait time for a smart meter appointment is around 2-4 weeks. However, in some areas of the country, this may take longer.

Once you have a compatible meter, you can switch over to our GoDrive Charge-Free tariff, with 0p per kWh off-peak rates.

If you're unable to get a compatible smart meter installed or if there are any communication issues with your smart meter sending us the data we need, then a one-off credit of £112 will be applied to your account after all avenues to connect your smart meter have been exhausted.

On the GoDrive Charge-Free tariff, charging (between 12am to 5am GMT) will cost nothing for the term of the tariff (up to a maximum off-peak fair use policy of 4,000kWh). Outside of this window peak rates will apply. If you reach the fair use cap, don't worry, we'll let you know and switch you on to our Standard (Variable) tariff, which has no exit fees. All prices can be found on our website.

What happens if I move home?

If you move home during the term of your tariff, you can simply arrange to take the tariff with you by contacting us directly at godrive@edfenergy.com.  If your new home doesn't have a compatible smart meter, we can arrange for one to be installed as part of your home move. Before you have a smart meter installed, we will need to move you onto the GoDrive Anytime (single rate) tariff as part of your home move switch and once the smart meter has been installed, you’ll be able to go back on to the GoDrive Charge-Free tariff by contacting us directly. The original tariff end date will still apply.

If we can’t install a smart meter at your new home, we'll need to move you onto the single rate version of the GoDrive Anytime tariff for the remainder of your tariff contract.

The great news is that our GoDrive tariff has no exit fees, so if you wish to change tariffs at any time you can.

Does the 0p off-peak price only apply to my vehicle charging?

No, the off-peak rate of 0p per kWh applies to any electricity used by your household, including vehicle charging during the hours of between 12am to 5am GMT) every day. The fair use policy of 4,000 kWh of electricity applies to the total consumption, during these off-peak hours for the term of the tariff.

Are there any exit fees on the GoDrive tariff?
