Gas Credit L&G TSG: Step 7 – Check status then start physical install

There are a few indicators you need to see before you can finish the physical install and finish the job:

  • Press 'Check Status' until you see the ‘1.1.1’ service request in the status box on the Toughpad and then you can start the physical meter exchange.
  • Once you have finished the physical install, press ‘Check Status’ until you have seen the ‘8.7.2 (Join Type 2 Devices)’ service request.
  • Press B on the gas meter to access the Meter Index Screen.
  • Do not continue until you have seen the ‘8.7.2 (Join Type 2 Devices)’ service request.

You CANNOT proceed with physical gas meter install if you see:

  • 8.1.1 – Commission Device Sync Clock - In Progress / Success


If you see a failure message, abort Gas Meter and contact back office commissioning team to commission PPMID.


You CAN proceed with physical gas meter install if you see:

  • Data Model Update – In Progress / Success
  • 1.1.1 – Update Primary Tariff – In Progress / Success
  • 6.15.1 – Update Security Credentials (KRP)
  • 8.7.2 – Join Type 2 Devices


If you see a failure message, leave SMETS2 Electricity meter installed, complete the Gas meter job and do not leave PPMID.


If you see one of the below service requests, press button B on the Gas meter to bring up the meter index in order to purge.

  • 1.6 – Update Payment Mode
  • 4.1.1 – Read Instantaneous Import Registers
  • 4.1.2 – Read Instantaneous Import TOU Matrices


If you see a failure message, leave SMETS2 Gas meter installed, complete Gas job and proceed to PPMID.


One final check:

For Smart to Smart Exchange jobs only, proceed to step 8.

Otherwise you can skip this step.
