EDF Energy Renewables sells majority stake in five UK wind farms

EDF Energy Renewables is selling a majority stake in five of its onshore wind farms.
This financial deal fits with the EDF Group’s CAP 2030 renewable energy strategy and supports its ambitious development portfolio in the United Kingdom, a strategic market for the Group.

Nottinghamshire firm begins delivery of £50m contract for Hinkley Point C nuclear power station

Caledonian Modular from Carlton-on-Trent near Newark employs about 150 people and was awarded the contract by main contractor Laing O’Rourke. 

The first accommodation units rolled off the factory production line in March and are being delivered to Somerset 96% finished.

Hunterston B worker tackles Three Peaks for charity

A member of staff at EDF Energy’s Hunterston B power station has conquered the United Kingdom’s three highest peaks for charity. Ardrossan man Martin Gaetano who is a project planner at the station put his skills to good use to mastermind the challenge which he completed with four of his friends. They raised more than £1,600 for Beatson Cancer Charity in the process.

EDF Energy Renewables buys 11 new wind farm sites

EDF Energy Renewables ( EDF ER) has bought 11 wind farm sites from Partnerships for Renewables, a development and asset management company.

Three sites with around 100 MW already have planning consent, one site is in the planning system already and seven other sites are in development.

Apioneering wind farm development off the coast of Blyth has reached a notablemilestone, with the first turbine foundation making its journey up the RiverTyne on route to its final destination.
