How do I cancel my Direct Debit payments?
We can give you the answer for your type of account, once we know what your account number starts with. You can find your account number in MyAccount, and on your EDF bills, emails and letters.
My account number starts with '67'
I'm switching supplier
You don't need to cancel your Direct Debit if you're switching supplier.
We'll do this for you to make things easier. We can take your final payment or refund any credit automatically, and then remove your bank details from our records.
I'm moving home
You don't need to cancel your Direct Debit if you're moving home.
We'll do this for you to make things easier. We can take your final payment or refund any credit automatically, and then remove your bank details from our records.
If you're taking us with you to your new home, we'll help you set up a new Direct Debit for your new home.
I'm staying with EDF
Please get in touch if you'd like to cancel your Direct Debit. We can see if we can help before you cancel - we don't want you to miss out on the benefits of Direct Debit.
If you cancel, you will:
- Pay more for every unit of energy you use (you pay the cheapest rates with Direct Debit)
- Pay by Card, Cash or Cheque
- Have to make a payment within 14 days of getting each bill
