Direct Debit Whole Amount (exact monthly payments): how many bills do I get – and when do I get them
We can give you the answer for your type of account, once we know what your account number starts with. You can find your account number in MyAccount, and on your EDF bills, emails and letters.
My account number starts with '67'
You should get 12 bills a year when you pay by Direct Debit Whole Amount (exact monthly payments).
How it works:
- We ask you for a meter reading each month; or we get it from your smart meter
- We send you a bill for the exact amount of energy you've used that month
- You pay your bill automatically by Direct Debit
What happens if we don't get your reading
Without your meter reading, we don't know exactly how much energy you've used. So we take your regular payment amount from your bank instead. You don't usually get a bill either – although you'll always get at least one bill every three months, even if it's estimated.
