We can give you the answer for your type of account, once we know what your account number starts with. You can find your account number in MyAccount, and on your EDF bills, emails and letters.
 

My account number starts with '67'

We'll ask you for a meter reading each month (or we'll get it from your smart meter); and you'll get an accurate bill just after you submit this reading.

If we don't get your reading on time, we'll send you an estimated bill.

Just had an estimated bill?
Send us a meter reading and we'll cancel your estimated bill. We'll then send you a new bill based on your meter reading.
 

Why you might get a meter reading reminder every three months

If we don’t have an email address or mobile phone number for you, you’ll get a meter reading reminder by post every three months.

That means two in every three bills will be estimated; and one will be accurate, based on your meter reading. This should be enough to keep your payments in line with your energy use.

You can add an email address and phone number to your account at any time. Just go to About Me in MyAccount and update your contact details.
