Add smart PAYG credit manually with a UTRN – through your Kaifa ESME meter

Your credit normally gets added to your smart Pay As You Go meter within an hour of topping up.

Can't wait that long, or it's been more than an hour? You can add your credit manually by entering your Unique Transaction Record Number (UTRN) into your Kaifa ESME electricity meter.

How it works

  1. Press the 'Up' button on the electric meter to get to the meter menu option

  2. Navigate to the ‘Top Up’ option using the ‘Down' button

  3. Press and hold the ‘Up’ button to get to the ‘Top Up' option

  4. Use the ‘Up’ button to increase the number 0-9

  5. Use the ‘Down’ button to move to the next digit position, and enter all digits of the UTRN number

  6. A long press on the ‘Down’ button submits the top-up code

  7. The screen will display a ‘Top up’ response message if it’s successful or failed

Can you access your meter safely?

Don’t access your meter if you need to stand on something to reach it; or if your meter or its pipes or wires are damaged. Please get in touch and avoid putting yourself at risk.
