Energy storage batteries are rechargeable lithium batteries that are used for energy storage. One of the current, leading companies in battery storage is Tesla who make rechargeable batteries for the home and for electric cars. They offer two main types of battery storage – Powerwall and Powerpack. The Powerwall model is commonly used for home energy storage, it works with solar panels, can be used for back-up power and also for off-the-grid living. The Powerpack model is used more commonly used for commercial use or to help electric utility companies who are involved in supplying our national electricity supply.
