Save up to £100 a year with our new energy tracker tariff

By EDF Energy Customer Team | Posted February 21, 2026

As energy costs begin to ease this spring, we’ve launched a new limited-time tracker tariff that gives customers another way to save. Save £100 a year on standing charges for dual fuel homes.[caveat: Simply Tracker Extra Jun27 savings]

The new offer comes as falling price caps, including the government discount, are already bringing bills down, and this tariff helps customers save even more!

Jon Perks, Sales & Marketing Director
“Our new tracker tariff guarantees every household will pay £100 less than the price cap over the year, and because the savings are built into the standing charge, everyone benefits equally — including those already reducing their energy use or choosing low‑carbon options.

With prices adjusting automatically in line with the cap, customers can relax knowing they’re getting fair value without the hassle of switching. If you want a straightforward way to stay in control and start saving today, this is the moment to make the move.”

What’s changed with our tracker tariff

Our new tracker tariff, called EDF Simply Tracker Extra Jun27, now includes:

  • Guaranteed £100 saving a year off standing charges for dual fuel customers
  • Guaranteed £50 saving a year off standing charges for electricity-only or gas-only customers
  • Guaranteed savings on the daily charge you pay — even if you use no energy

This is a time-limited offer, designed to give customers extra savings on top of wider energy price reductions happening across the market.

Ofgem has lowered unit rates for the April–June price cap period, meaning most households will see a reduction in their overall energy costs. This reduction follows action taken by the UK Government in the 2025 Budget. Our new tracker tariff adds even more guaranteed savings.

Benefits of a tracker tariff

Our tracker tariff follows the energy price cap, with rates that adjust every three months.

This means:

  • Your prices fall when the price cap falls
  • The savings on your standing charges are guaranteed for the length of the tariff

This makes it especially valuable for customers who:

  • Use less energy
  • Spend time away from home
  • Want guaranteed savings they’ll see every day
  • Want to be on a tariff that beats Ofgem's prices

Which tariff is better for me, fixed or a tracker?

Both tariffs offer different benefits.

A tracker tariff could be right for you if you:

  • Want to benefit when prices fall
  • Want guaranteed standing charge savings
  • Don’t want to lock into long fixed rates

A fixed tariff could suit you if you:

  • Want the certainty of fixed prices
  • Prefer predictable bills

Right now, with prices falling and this extra discount available, many customers are choosing tracker tariffs to maximise their savings.
