We set up our Stakeholder Advisory panel in 2006, to engage with independent experts from relevant disciplines. The panel provides a healthy challenge to our executive team and a strong voice for our stakeholders, helping to shape our business strategy.

The panel meets with our Chief Executive and executive team every three months to discuss our strategic issues and their impact on our business strategies and policies. The panel helped to define both our climate and social commitments, challenging us to set ambitious and relevant goals.

The panel is made up of eminent individuals with broad experience in business, community relations and the environment.

Chair is Will Hutton, Chief Executive of the Work Foundation and one of the UK’s leading commentators on social and political affairs. John Roberts is Deputy Chair; he’s a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and recently retired as Chief Executive of United Utilities.

The other panel members are:

  • Diane Coyle, award-winning financial journalist, radio presenter and economist
  • Lord Patten of Barnes, the former Governor of Hong Kong
  • Simon Robertson, chairman of Rolls Royce
