New nuclear power stations provide both energy security and low carbon power

In a letter to the Daily Mail, Keith Parker, the Chief Executive of the Nuclear Industry Association, sets out the economic benefits of investing in new nuclear, noting that the investment in Hinkley Point C represents the “first time ever” that a “a new nuclear power station is being built without state funding”. He goes on to observe that “more than 25,000 jobs will be created” during construction of Hinkley Point C.
