Stuart Crooks, Hinkley Point C Managing Director, visited Buckingham Palace today to receive his CBE and be made a Commander of the British Empire.

Stuart was awarded the honour for ‘services to nuclear energy’ which he has delivered during a 33-year career. Stuart, previously the Managing Director of Nuclear Generation at EDF Energy, oversaw the life-extension programme of the UK nuclear fleet and was also responsible for delivering their best year of electricity output.

He received his CBE from Queen Elizabeth II at a ceremony at the Palace on Thursday 10 October with his wife and parents present.

Stuart said: “I am very humbled to receive this honour. My career achievements could not have been possible without the tremendous support from my wife and family and also my hardworking colleagues across Hinkley Point C, Generation and the wider EDF Group. Thank you to everyone.”
