The UK needs to transition to a smart and flexible energy system if it’s to achieve net zero by 2050. Backed by the UK Government, EDF's UK R&D research engineers are working with the Customers team to test innovative propositions needed to meet this challenge, which requires a big shift in the way we use energy in our homes. Project FLASH, which stands for FLexibilty Assets and Smart Homes, includes five propositions designed to save cash and carbon for our customers and the energy grid. You can find out more about FLASH by watching this film.

* Project FLASH is part of the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero's Alternative Energy Markets Innovation Programme and backed by £1.3m of funding from the Net Zero Innovation Portfolio (NZIP). NZIP is a £1 billion fund for low-carbon technologies and systems and aims to decrease the costs of decarbonisation helping enable the UK to end its contribution to climate change.
