EDF Energy today welcomed the decision of Theresa May and the UK Government on Hinkley Point C. The new power station will be pivotal in securing the UK’s energy future and will boost the economy both nationally and regionally in the South West of England. Hinkley Point C will create over 25,000 job opportunities and 64% of the project’s construction value will go to UK companies.

The project will also create up to 1,000 apprenticeships for young people living in the Somerset area and significant educational investment throughout the South West.
