- Standard installation is subject to meeting the home installation survey eligibility criteria. If you require works that aren't included in standard installation, Pod will provide a quote for the additional works, and you can choose whether you wish to proceed with Pod Drive. If Pod cannot offer you Pod Drive as part of this offer, EDF will waive your EDF EV tariff exit fee if you contact us to switch to a different EDF tariff.
- Cashback is paid by Pod and is not part of your EDF tariff. Pod pay 8.05p per kWh for Smart Charging your EV with them. (Correct as at September 2025.) Pod refer to this cashback allowance as EV Miles.
- Smart Charge' refers to Pod's Smart Charging service. EDF's Smart Charging bolt-on is not available with Pod Drive.
How Pod Drive works

- Let us know if you're interested in Pod Drive
2. Over to Pod!
- We'll share your details with Pod so they can set up your plan
- Pod will ask you to complete an installation survey and run a quick soft credit check (it won’t affect your score)
- Once approved, they'll arrange your charger installation(1) and plan
3. Smart Charging
Each time you use your Pod Point charger to charge your EV at home, Pod repays you!
- Plug in and charge with your Pod Point charger
- Earn Smart Charge cashback(2) in your Pod app wallet
- Transfer £10 and over straight to your bank!

Pod Drive in more detail!
1. Your EDF EV tariff
To get the Pod Drive offer with zero upfront costs, you'll need to be on one of our fixed EV tariffs for a year, either GoElectric or Evolve.
In year two of your charger plan you can change to a different tariff, provided it isn't a tariff that offers a smart-charging option.
Pod Drive isn't compatible with EDF's Smart Charging bolt-on.
2. Your three year agreement plan
With Pod Drive, you agree to use the service for three years, and Pod provides you with a premium charging system, next-level support and cashback up to £172 a year(2).
- After three years: you can continue with Pod Drive for as long as you want; Pod will be in touch before the end of your contract term to chat through your options
- If you move home: Pod offer a range of options to make sure you can continue your Pod Drive plan seamlessly. Just call their support team when you know your moving date.
3. Your premium Pod Point Solo 3S EV home charger
- Solar-compatible: If you've got, or are planning to get solar panels, the Solo 3S is fully solar ready
- 7.4kW premium fast charger: that's the fastest charger that can be fitted to a typical home (you need industrial 3-phase to fit anything faster!)
- Built-in charging cable: for maximum convenience, it's five meters long
- Wi-Fi-enabled: your charger is controlled over Wi-Fi. It has to be connected to your fulltime Wi-Fi network to function correctly
- Compatible with all new EVs
- Expert standard home installation by Pod's Which? accredited installers
4. Your warranty
- Dedicated phone support: Call the Pod support team with any problems; most can be solved over the phone
- Repair: If Pod can’t fix your problem over the phone, they'll book one of their engineers to come out within the next 48 hours to try and repair your charger
- Replace: If there's a fault, and the engineer can't fix it, they'll replace it with a brand new charger
- Recharge: If Pod can't get to you within 48 hours, they'll pay for you to add your usual daily charge at a public charger until they get everything working, up to a maximum of £50
- Cover: While you're on Pod Drive, Pod will look after your charge. When your agreement ends, you can choose to renew onto a service agreement for the warranty to remain.
5. Smart Charging and your annual cashback allowance
Each time you use your Pod Point charger to charge your EV at home, Pod repays you!
- Smart Charge(3) with Pod by simply plugging in your EV to your Pod Point home charger.
- Then use the Pod app to set your EV charging target, and the time and date you want to charge.
- Pod then use their Smart Charging system to communicate with your Pod Point Solo 3S to charge your EV to the target battery level, by your desired time.
- Cashback is paid by Pod and is not part of your EDF tariff. Pod pay 8.05p per kWh for Smart Charging(3) your EV with them.
