METIS: Delivering significant advances in nuclear seismic safety

The Methodologies and Tools Innovation for Seismic Risk Assessment (METIS) project aims to improve best practices for seismic safety assessment, focusing on hazard, fragility and consequence. A Press Release can be found here.

Launched in September 2020, METIS is a 57-month Horizon 2020 initiative funded by the Euratom research and training programme, which brings together 15 partners from 9 countries. 

The EDF UK R&D team disseminated and supported the use of the open source software code_aster. They led WP2 (dissemination, exploitation and training) including the delivery of the final handbook, which summarises the project’s key findings, results and recommendations.
