Only savings with no nasty peak rates

Our Heat Pump Tracker tariff offers six hours of low-cost electricity daily to heat your home without any price peaks that other suppliers apply.

The trial tariff consists of three pricing rates every day, which are:

  1. A day unit rate set at our Standard tariff rate in your region
  2. Heat Pump Tracker rate between 4 am–7 am and 1 pm4 pm. During these hours, you get a discount of 10p/kWh off the Standard tariff rate in your region
  3. A daily standing rate aligned with the Standard tariff rate in your region. There is no discount on this rate

Our Heat Pump Tracker tariff offers a flexible pricing model that adjusts to Ofgem's Price Cap, which is influenced by the wholesale energy costs. This means the unit rates are reviewed every three months and can change, but your 10p discount remains the same. We'll inform you in advance of any upcoming price changes, so there's no need to worry.

There are no exit fees or tie-ins, so if our Heat Pump Tracker tariff doesn't work for you, you can switch to another supplier or tariff anytime.

Find your rates

If you're currently on our Standard tariff, take 10p off your Direct Debit rate to determine your discounted rates. If you're currently on a fixed tariff, you'll need to consider your current fixed price and any exit fees to see if registering your interest in the trial makes sense.

If you don't have your unit rates readily available, select your region from the drop-down list to view our current Standard tariff rates (including your day rate, your Heat Pump Tracker rate and your daily standing charge).

How do I sign up?

To switch to our Heat Pump Tracker tariff, you must:

  • Be an EDF customer
If you haven't joined us yet, please sign up. We will put you on our Standard tariff while we work behind the scenes to switch you over. This process usually takes around 14 days and includes setting up your smart meter to connect with us every 30 minutes. Once your account is live, you can come back here and sign up for the trial.
  • Have a heat pump installed in your home if you don't already have one
We may ask anyone who signs up for the trial to provide evidence of their heat pump installation. This could be an MSC certificate or a photo.
  • Have a smart meter we're connected to that's set to send us meter reads every 30 minutes
If you haven't had a smart meter installed and you're an EDF customer, you'll need to get one. You can book an appointment online. We can connect to most smart meters. However, there are sometimes unavoidable issues where we can't connect. Whilst we're doing our checks, if your smart meter isn't set up to send us reads every 30 minutes, we'll do this for you.
What happens if my smart meter isn't communicating with you?
We'll check this for you as part of the trial sign-up. While we can fix some things immediately, we may encounter data problems with smart meters that take significant time to fix or prevent things from working at all. We'll do our best, but it may mean you can't sign up for this trial.
  • Accept the Heat Pump Tariff Tracker eligibility
We'll ask you to agree to the Heat Pump Tariff Tracker eligibility during sign-up. This is a Beta trial, so some things may not work perfectly, but your participation helps us learn and improve.

What happens once I've signed up

Our team will check all your information, which will take up to five working days. If they have any problems, they may contact you for more information. Once the verification process is complete, we'll let you know. So just sit back, relax, and feel good about saving cash and carbon!

FAQs about this trial

A typical customer can save £164 per year versus the current single-rate price cap tariff. This is based on the following;

Savings are based on a customer using Ofgem’s typical domestic consumption of 2700 kWh electricity and with heating provided by an ASHP with COP of 3.1 providing equivalent heat to that from a 94% gas boiler using 11,500 kWh of gas.

Our unique pricing plans rely on smart meter technology, which enables us to obtain the required data to determine your cost savings. To achieve this, we will provide you with a smart meter configured to send us meter readings every 30 minutes automatically.

If you're  not an EDF customer yet, get a quote and join us through our sign-up page. Once you've switched to us and have a smart meter that provides us with reads every 30 minutes, you can come back here and fill out our form to apply for the trial.

No, this tariff is just electricity, as it's linked to your heat pump.

Yes, our heat pump tracker tariff is flexible. This means the price can change in line with Ofgem's Price Cap, which is affected by wholesale energy costs. We'll always let you know if the prices change.

There are no exit fees or tie-ins, so if our Heat Pump Tracker tariff doesn't work for you, you can switch to another supplier or tariff anytime – just let us know why.

Remember: even if you pay by Direct Debit, it doesn't mean the amount you pay each month is fixed. If you increase your energy usage, your Direct Debit will increase.

We understand this is frustrating, but we do not own the in-home display tech, so we can't control how the rates are being displayed.

How to save the most

After signing up for our trial, your savings will be automatic. Boost your heat pump during the cheap rate times to save even more!

  • Set up a heating schedule in line with the daily cheaper rates
  • Turn on your water heater during the hours to take advantage of the cheaper electricity rates
  • Boost your heating. Set your thermostat at a higher rate during the cheaper rate times. This means your heat pump will work less during the day
