A smart thermostat is a device that controls your heating and can be controlled by your phone or computer. They show you how much energy you're using, monitor your use and also learn your routine, which means they'll start to turn on when you usually put the heating on.
They work by connecting to the internet and you can then programme them or they programme themselves. Some smart thermostats can even turn themselves on when you're near home by tracking you via GPS.
A smart thermostat is a smart home essential. Along with smart lighting and voice control, a smart thermostat gives a new level of control and allows you to manage your energy use.
No matter where you are, you can have complete control of your home’s temperature directly from your smartphone, tablet and computer. Because you can turn your heating on with your smart phone, you can make sure your heating is on when you're headed back from holiday or when you pop out unexpectedly and don't want the heating on while you're out.
