T&Cs for EDF's Commonwealth Games tickets prize draw

The Prize Draw is provided and promoted by EDF Energy Customers Limited, Nova North, 11 Bressenden Place, Victoria, London, SW1E 5BY (Company Number: 02228297) (the “Promoter”).  

Entry into the Prize Draw signifies acceptance of these terms and conditions.

1. Prize draw timeline

1.1 The Prize Draw opens at 18:00 on Thursday 9 July 2026 and closes at 23:59 on Wednesday 15 July 2026 (the “Opening Date” and “Closing Date”).

1.2 All entries relating to the Prize Draw must be received by the Promoter on its official EDF Retail Social Media channels on Instagram (@edfenergy); Facebook (@EDF); and TikTok (@edfenergy) by no later than 23:59 on the Closing Date. All entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

1.3 To enter the Prize Draw, entrants must complete the following steps during the Prize Draw Period:

a. Visit one of EDF’s official social media Prize Draw posts on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok;

b. Follow us, tag someone you’d like to take with you to the Commonwealth Games, and tell us why; 

c. Ensure their comment is posted before 23:59 on the Closing Date, (an “Entry”).

1.4 There is no purchase necessary to enter the Prize Draw.

2. Eligibility

2.1 The Prize Draw is only open to UK residents aged 18 or over at the date of entry.

2.2 Entrants must have access to a valid Instagram, Facebook or TikTok account and must enter via one of EDF’s official social media channels during the Prize Draw Period.

2.3 Entrants must be available to attend the Commonwealth Games artistic gymnastics session on Tuesday 28 July 2026 at 1pm or the Athletics and Para Athletics session on Friday, 31 July at 10am – depending on which event the entrant specified in their entry eligibility request.

2.4 The Prize is for event tickets only, unless otherwise stated, and does not include travel, accommodation, food, drink, spending money or any other associated costs.

The Prize Draw is not open to:

a.) Employees or agents of the Promoter or its subsidiaries (including EDF Power Solutions, EDF Trading, EDF Heat Pumps, Contact Solar and Pod); 

b.) Anyone professionally connected with the administration of the Prize Draw;

c.) Immediate family members or household members of the above. 

2.4 In entering the Prize Draw, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the Prize. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the Prize Draw. 

2.5 The Promoter will not accept entries that are generated by a computer (including AI), illegible, incomplete, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with, not originals, incomplete, offensive, crude, do not comply with these terms and conditions, or disparaging about the Prize Draw, EDF or another individual or company.

2.6 One entry per person. Entries submitted on behalf of another person, joint entries, bulk entries, automated entries, or entries generated by bots or other automated means will not be accepted.

2.7 Any ticket holder under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

3. The Prizes

3.1 There are 5 (5) Prizes available for the Athletics and Para Athletics and 10 (10) prizes available for the Artistic Gymnastics.

3.2 Each winner will receive two (2) tickets to watch either the Artistic Gymnastics on 28 July from 1pm at the Glasgow International Arena or the Athletics and Para Athletics on 31 July from 10am at the Scotstoun Stadium. (“the Prize”).

3.3 The Prize is not negotiable, transferable, or exchangeable for cash.

3.4 Prizes are subject to availability, and the Promoter may substitute an alternative Prize of equal or greater value.

4. Winner selection

4.1 Fifteen (15) winners will be drawn at random from all eligible entries using a random number generator.

4.2 No individual may win more than one Prize of two tickets.

4.3 Winners will be removed from subsequent selection rounds.

5. Notifying winners

5.1 Winners will be notified within 2 working days of the closing date by direct message on the same social media platform used for entry.

5.2 Winners must respond within 4 working days to accept the Prize; otherwise, the Promoter reserves the right to award the Prize to an alternate eligible entrant.

6. Prize delivery and timing

6.1 Winners will be contacted by direct message on the same social media platform used to enter the Prize Draw. Winners must respond within 4 working days to accept the Prize and provide any information reasonably required by the Promoter to arrange ticket delivery, which may include their full name, email address, phone number and guest details.

6.2 Tickets will be issued electronically to the winner using the email address provided following Prize acceptance. Tickets may be issued by the Promoter, the official ticketing provider, or the event organiser.

6.3 Winners are responsible for ensuring that the details they provide are accurate. The Promoter will not be responsible if tickets cannot be delivered due to incorrect or incomplete information provided by the winner.

6.4 The winner and any of their guests must comply with all applicable ticketing, venue and event organiser terms and conditions. The Promoter is not responsible for any refusal of entry or inability to attend caused by the winner’s or guest’s failure to comply with those terms.

6.5 Tickets are for the specified event, date, time and venue only and cannot be transferred, exchanged, resold or redeemed for cash.

7. Intellectual property

7.1 Entrants will retain ownership of any intellectual property rights in their Entry.

7.2 By submitting an Entry, entrants grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and share the Entry only as reasonably necessary to administer, promote and publicise the Prize Draw.

7.3 Entrants confirm that their Entry is their own original submission, does not infringe the rights of any third party, and complies with these terms and conditions.

8. Data protection and publicity 

8.1 By entering the Prize Draw, you agree that any personal information provided by you in relation to the Entry may be held and used by the Promoter or its agents and suppliers to administer the Prize Draw in accordance with EDF’s Customer Privacy Policy: www.edfenergy.com/yourprivacy.

8.2 If you are a winner of the Prize Draw, the Promoter may use your name and town or county of residence to announce the winner and for reasonable, related promotional purposes.

9. Disqualification

EDF reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these terms and conditions, or which appears contrary to the spirit or intention of the Prize Draw. 

10. Platform terms and non-affiliation

This Prize Draw is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Meta or any other social media platform. Entrants are responsible for complying with the relevant platform’s terms of use.

11. Limitation of liability

11.1 The Promoter does not accept responsibility for Entries that are lost/damaged or delayed, regardless of cause, including for example as a result of any postal or equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server or any computer hardware or software failure of any kind, nor will it accept proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of Entry into the Prize Draw.

11.2 Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

12. General

12.1 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any Entry which does not fully comply with these Terms and Conditions or if the entrant’s conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Prize Draw.

12.2 The Promoter may cancel this Prize Draw at any time, and/or may amend the terms of the Prize Draw. Any withdrawal of or changes to the Prize Draw shall be published on the Promoter’s website and announced on the official EDF Retail Social Media channels.  

12.3 If these Rules or any part of them should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then to the extent that they are so illegal, invalid or unenforceable, they shall in that state or country be treated as severed and deleted from these Rules and the remaining Rules shall survive and remain in full force and effect.

12.4 These terms and conditions shall be governed by the law of England and Wales, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12.5 Please do not enter this Prize Draw if any of these provisions are unacceptable.
