EDF Pod Drive offer webpage caveats, EDF's eligibility and Pod's Pod Drive terms and conditions,
Caveats
Standard installation is subject to meeting the home installation survey eligibility criteria. If the property doesn't meet the eligibility criteria, Pod will provide a quote for the needed additional works for a home charger install. If Pod cannot offer you Pod Drive as part of this offer, EDF will waive your EDF EV tariff exit fee if you contact us to switch to a different EDF tariff.
Cash back is paid by Pod and is not part of your EDF tariff. Pod pay 8.5p per kWh for Smart Charging your EV with them. Only homes with an electricity supply that's half-hourly settled, where electricity usage is measured and billed in half-hour intervals using data from smart meters, can get up to £172.50 a year. If your home hasn't yet been switched over to half-hourly settlements, your annual cash back allowance will be £115.00. Pod will let you know what type of meter set-up your home has in the Pod Drive joining process. Pod refer to this cash back allowance as EV Miles.
'Smart Charge' refers to Pod's Smart Charging service. EDF's Smart Charging bolt-on is not available with Pod Drive.
£316 saving compares EDF’s GoElectric Sep26 tariff cost at £1,905 a year based on a dual fuel customer using total electricity consumption of 4,650 kWh (2,700kWh peak rates and 1,950 kWh off-peak rates) and Ofgem typical gas consumption of 11,500 kWh. This is compared to a dual fuel Standard Variable customer (Electricity Standard meter adjusted for equivalent electricity use) which will cost £2,221 a year based on July 2025 energy price cap rates. This assumes your car is charged during off-peak hours at the GoElectric off-peak rate. We use a national average of Direct Debit regional prices and actual savings may apply depending on usage and charging patterns.
The £195 a year saving is based on an electric vehicle customer, with an annual charging consumption of 1,950 kWh, charging in the off peak hours, paying by Direct Debit on EDF Evolve; compared to a customer on Standard Variable tariff with a standard electricity meter.
- For your day time usage – this tariff is variable price and will be the same as the Standard Variable Direct Debit price cap level for the duration of the term.
- For your off peak usage – this tariff is variable price and will be 10p (inc VAT) lower than Standard Variable Direct Debit price cap rate for the duration of the term.
Based on an EV achieving 3.5 miles per kWh and charging using the GoElectric tariff off-peak rate of 9p per kWh.
You set the schedule and keep your EV plugged in when you’re not using it. We’ll charge it automatically when electricity is at its cheapest. And you’ll always pay your off-peak rates when your EV charges, no matter what time of the day it is. Plus, if your EV is charging, you’ll be charged the off-peak rates for electricity in your home too.
