Pod Drive offer FAQs
What is Pod Drive and how does it work with EDF?
- The Pod Drive EDF offer, with zero upfront costs, is a plan for EV home charging, offered by Pod.
- Join either EDF's GoElectric or Evolve EV tariff and register your interest in Pod Drive

- You'll then receive a Solo 3S Pod Point home EV charger and benefit from Pod's ongoing service and support through your three-year plan.

Will I need to pay anything upfront?
If you're on one of the eligible EDF EV tariffs listed above, you won’t need to pay the £99 upfront fee that usually applies to new Pod Drive customers.
Please note that only standard installation for an EV charger is included in the Pod Drive offer. If you require works that aren't included in standard installation, Pod will provide a quote for the additional works, and you can choose whether you wish to proceed with Pod Drive. Standard installation means:
- Your new charger will be installed on a brick wall or permanent structure 15m or less from your electricity meter
- Any cable visible inside your property will be covered with trunking less than 3m
- No outdoor works will be required to lay cable underground

What happens if I fail the soft credit check during the Pod Drive sign-up?
As part of Pod's eligibility process, a soft credit check is carried out when you complete your plan sign-up. It doesn't impact your credit score. If you don't pass the credit check, unfortunately, you won't be eligible for the Pod Drive plan.
However, as an EDF EV tariff customer:
- You'll remain on your existing EDF EV tariff and can continue to benefit from its low-cost charging benefits
- We’ll direct you to other EV support and offers from EDF, including EDF's smart charging solutions - such as EDF's Smart Charging bolt-on
- If you’re not eligible for Pod Drive, don’t worry - you’ll still be able to buy a Pod Point home charger; a member of the Pod team will get in touch to explain your options and help you choose what works best for you.
