Weekend Saver Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the Weekend Saver service as more particularly described below (the “Service”). References to “you” and “your” mean the EDF customer that has opted in to the Service. By signing up and participating in the Service, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions, together with any specific rules set out in any communications or documents relating to the Service (the “Terms and Conditions”):

The Service
1.    The Service will be facilitated by EDF Energy Customers Limited, a company incorporated in England and Wales with company number 02228297, whose registered address is at Nova North, 11 Bressenden Place, London, SW1E 5BY (“EDF”, “we”, “us”, and “our”).

2.    The Service operates in recurring monthly intervals (each a “Service Period”). A Service Period will start on the first Monday of each month and end on the Friday following the last Monday of each month. We may choose to cancel and/or amend the Service at any time during the Service Period and will notify you if we choose to do so.

3.    To take part, you must opt in to the Service. Once you have opted in to the Service, you will remain enrolled until 28 February 2027 (the “Participation Period”). You will not be required to re-enrol to the Service during the Participation Period unless you become ineligible and are removed from participation in accordance with Clause 22.

4.    These Terms and Conditions are separate and supplemental to any other terms and conditions that you may have with us now or in the future. Participating in the Service will not affect the existing rights and obligations under those terms.

Eligibility
5.    To be eligible for the Service (“Eligible”), you must, for the duration of the Service Period:
• at all times comply with the Terms and Conditions;
• be aged 18 or over;
• reside in England, Scotland or Wales;
• be a current domestic import electricity customer of EDF;
• be signed up to and eligible for the Flextras product by EDF in accordance with the Flextras terms and conditions;
• have a working electricity smart meter (meaning a meter that records information such as consumption of energy and can directly supply us with meter reads) that provides half-hourly meter reads;
• have consented, and not removed your consent, to giving us half-hourly meter reads;
• have exactly one electricity import meter point administration number;
• be on a single rate tariff or Economy 7 electricity tariff;
• not have an electricity export meter registered at your property; and
• have a valid mobile number registered to your EDF account.

6.     You agree to notify us if you are no longer Eligible for the Service. If, at any point during the Participation Period, we reasonably suspect that you are no longer Eligible, we may remove or pause your participation in the Service.

Service and Participation

7.     During the Service Period, you will be offered an incentive if the proportion of electricity that you consume between 4pm and 7pm, Monday to Friday (the “Peak Period”), falls within a consumption band (as set out in Clause 18). Days on which other free electricity events run by us (“Events”) take place will be excluded from any calculations under this Service if you participate in those Events.

8.    Each consumption band, as set out in Clause 18, indicates the average proportion of electricity consumed in the Peak Periods occurring in a Service Period (each a “Consumption Band”). To qualify for an incentive, the average proportion of your electricity consumption in the Peak Periods occurring in a Service Period must fall within a Consumption Band (the “Challenge”).

Consumption Average

9.    In order to determine whether your proportion of electricity consumed in the Peak Period falls within a Consumption Band as part of the Challenge, we will calculate your average consumption (the “Consumption Average”). The Consumption Average will be calculated by taking the average proportion of electricity consumed by you during the Peak Periods occurring in a Service Period. We may adjust the Consumption Average for weather corrections, and we reserve the right to apply any other corrections. We will recalculate your Consumption Average if your participation in the Service ends or pauses (for example, if you move house or you are no longer Eligible), the Service is ended or paused by us, or we determine, in our sole discretion, there is an error in the Consumption Average calculation. For the avoidance of doubt, the day(s) where an Event has taken place (if you are participating in those Events) will be excluded when calculating your Consumption Average.
Incentive

10.     If we determine, in our sole discretion, that:
(a) you have successfully participated in the Challenge; and
(b) you have remained Eligible for the duration of the Challenge,
you will receive free electricity awarded in the form of a credit applied to your account in accordance with Clauses 20 and 21 (the “Free Electricity”).

11.    The amount of Free Electricity you receive will vary depending on the Challenge and which Consumption Band your Consumption Average falls under.

12.    We will notify you on the first Monday following the end of a Service Period of the number of Free Electricity hours you have earned during that Service Period.

13.    Any Free Electricity awarded for a Service Period may be used during the Eligible Redemption Hours, being the hours between 12am and 3pm on each Saturday and Sunday during the four-week period commencing on the first Saturday following the end of a Service Period (the “Eligible Redemption Hours”).

14.    Each Saturday and Sunday occurring during the Eligible Redemption Hours shall constitute a redemption weekend (each, a “Redemption Weekend”).

15.    Following notification of your results, you may select the Redemption Weekend(s) during which you wish to use your Free Electricity. Selections may be made during the period beginning on the day we communicate your results to you and ending on the Thursday immediately preceding the final Redemption Weekend within the applicable Eligible Redemption Hours (the “Selection Window”).

16.    To redeem your Free Electricity for a particular Redemption Weekend, you must make your selection no later than the Thursday immediately preceding that Redemption Weekend.

17.    If you do not make a selection before the end of the Selection Window, EDF may, in its sole discretion, automatically allocate your Free Electricity to the final available Redemption Weekend within the applicable Eligible Redemption Hours, and EDF shall, in its sole discretion, determine the specific hours to which such Free Electricity is allocated.

18.    The table below sets out the Consumption Bands and the associated Free Electricity hours you may be awarded.

Consumption BandFree Electricity Hours
≥ 18%0
≥ 15% and < 18% 5
≥ 12% and < 15%10
≥ 9% and < 12%15
<9% 24

19.    Free Electricity awarded as part of the Challenge will be applied as a credit amount to your account. The value of such credit amount will be calculated by multiplying your total electricity consumption in the allocated Free Electricity period by the relevant unit rate of the electricity product for which you have a contract.

20.    Any Free Electricity owed, or free electricity awarded as part of an Event, will be paid as a credit amount only (“Payment”), which shall be applied to your EDF account. If we make any overpayment or underpayment to you, we may adjust future Payments to reflect this or require reimbursement of any overpayment. Any notified Payments are inclusive of VAT (if applicable). Payments cannot be withdrawn by you as cash or cash equivalent.

21.    We are under no obligation to make any Payment to you if we are unable to obtain your meter reads to calculate your electricity usage during the Challenge, Free Electricity periods or an Event. However, if fewer than 90% of your half-hourly meter reads are available to us during the Challenge we may, at our sole discretion, provide you with a Payment of a credit amount only of the average amount earned by participants who earned Free Electricity in that month. If fewer than 90% of your half-hourly meter reads are available to us during the Free Electricity period, we may, at our sole discretion, provide you with a Payment of a credit amount only of the average amount earned by participants who earned or were awarded the same number of free hours as you.
If you become ineligible

22.    We are under no obligation to make any Payment to you if you become ineligible. However, where you become ineligible during a Service Period, we may, at our sole discretion, provide you with a Payment of a credit amount equal to the average amount earned by participants who earned Free Electricity in that month. You will be removed from participation in the Service. If you subsequently become Eligible again, you must opt-in to the Service again to participate.

23.    Notwithstanding Clause 22, where you become ineligible solely as a result of smart meter communications issues (as determined by EDF), your participation in the Service will be paused. However, you will remain enrolled and will not be removed from participation in the Service. If you become Eligible again, your participation in the Service will automatically resume without your need to opt-in to the Service again. For each month in which you remain ineligible solely due to smart meter communications issues, you will receive a credit amount of five pounds sterling (£5) credited to your account.

26.    By signing up and participating in the Service, you warrant that all information submitted is true, current, and complete. If any information is found to be fraudulent or incorrectly completed or if we have reasonable grounds to believe that you are in breach of these Terms and Conditions or are no longer Eligible, we may remove you from the Service and reclaim any payments made under the Service.

27.    We are not liable to you for any loss that is incurred under the Service or by participation in a Challenge, including but not limited to any losses which arise from any technological or procedural omissions, failures, or errors and/or any action or inaction by us or any third parties or event beyond direct control on which we may rely upon in order to provide the Service to you.

28.    In our sole discretion, we reserve the right to reject or revoke your participation in a Challenge, withdraw from or pause the Service, and/or amend the Terms and Conditions without prior notice during the Service Period. Any decision taken by us under this Clause 28 shall be effective immediately. We shall notify you if amendments are made to these Terms and Conditions during the Service Period. We reserve the right to change the Terms and Conditions in compliance with judicial or regulatory rulings and will not be held liable.

29.    The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with this agreement or its subject matter or formation.
