Everything you need to know about the Pod Power tariff
Is the Pod Power tariff only available to EV drivers?
Yes. This tariff is exclusively available to drivers of an electric vehicle, which they charge at home - this tariff is also only available for Pod customers.
I’m an existing EDF customer, can I sign up to this tariff?
Yes, the Pod Power tariff is available to new and existing EDF customers. Once you've ordered your Pod Point charger, you can access the tariff.
Do I need to have both fuels with you to access Pod Power tariff?
No, the Pod Power tariff is available as dual-fuel, but you can choose to have only your electricity on it if you wish; you’d just need an active EDF electricity account with a fully connected smart meter.(2)
Do I need a smart meter?
Yes. Our off-peak EV rates require a fully connected smart meter, which tells us when you use electricity so we can calculate your bill.

- Don’t have one yet? You’ll need one to join. Installation usually takes 2–4 weeks, and existing customers can book through MyAccount
How do I sign up to Pod Power if I’m not already an EDF customer?
First, you'll join EDF on our Standard Variable tariff whilst we take over your supply and connect with your smart meter, if you already have one. Once we can connect to your smart meter, you can move on to our Pod Power tariff.
No Smart meter? No problem. Once your electricity supply is with us, you’ll be able to book an appointment through MyAccount. Once your smart meter is installed and connected, you’ll be ready to access Pod Power.
