Government Funding for Electric Vehicle Charging & Infrastructure
The government's Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) offers funding to support the uptake of plug-in vehicles and EV chargepoint infrastructure across the UK.

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)
Who it's for:
Businesses, charities and public sector organisations.
What's on offer:
Grants for up to 75% off the cost of buying and installing workplace EV chargers, up to a maximum of:
- £350 per socket
- 40 sockets in total across all sites.
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) for State-Funded Institutions
Who it's for:
State-funded colleges, schools and nurseries
What's on offer:
Grants for up to 75% off the costs of buying and installing EV chargers, capped at:
- £2500 per charger
- 40 sockets across all sites (Academy trusts can apply for up to 40 for each institution within the trust)
The EV Chargepoint Grant for Landlords | CLOSES 31 MARCH 2026
Who it's for: Landlords (owners of commercially-let properties)
What's on offer:
Grants of up to 75% off the cost of installing EV chargers, capped at £350 per charger and up to 100 chargepoints per financial year.
Applications are made per building, and further applications can be made later for the same property if more chargers are installed.
The EV Infrastructure Grant For Staff & Fleets | CLOSES 31 MARCH 2026
Who it's for: Small and medium-sized businesses (up to 249 employees)
What's on offer: Grants for up to 75% off the costs of infrastructure needed to install EV chargepoints now and in the future, up to a maximum of £15,000 per building.
- Chargepoints must be for staff or fleet use only.
- A business can receive up to 5 grants per financial year (one per site).
