If you're an EDF customer, you can earn it by referring friends, colleagues or your customers with residential properties. Once they've switched and made their first payment, shortly after, you'll receive £100 and they'll receive £75 on your accounts.

How does it work?

It’s quick and straightforward.

To get started, email SmallBusinessReferaFriend@edfenergy.com with your EDF account number or business address. Once we’ve verified your details, we’ll send you a personalised referral link.

Share your link with others and when someone signs up using it - as long as it meets our terms and conditions - both you and your referral will receive the reward directly on your EDF accounts.

Frequently asked questions

No! You'll earn a reward for every friend that signs up, so why stop at just one? Keep referring, keep earning!

Once you have your link, get sharing! You can email it, WhatsApp it, share it on your socials - whatever works best for you.

However, there are a few restrictions on who you share your referral link to and how you share your referral link. Please see our terms and conditions for more information.

Once your friend's successfully switched to us, and you've both made a payment to us, we’ll automatically credit both of your EDF accounts. It typically takes around four weeks from when your friend joins, for your account to be credited (it can take longer if anything delays their switch). We'll send you both an email to let you know the credit's been applied to your EDF account.

If your friend uses your referral link but is unsure if they want to switch straight away, they will be emailed a copy of their quote from us so they can review it in their own time and decide to switch later if they want to. If they decide they want to go ahead with their switch, then they will need to complete a new quote using your referral link, this way you’ll both receive the credit automatically. If your friend forgets to use your referral link, please contact us and we can apply the account credit manually, once their first Direct Debit payment has been taken (in line with our terms and conditions).

Residential and Small Business customers can refer friends who aren't currently supplied by EDF. Only residential properties can be referred at the moment, not small businesses.

You can still share your referral link, just get in touch with us once you get our email confirming that your credit's been applied to your account. We'll then arrange to send the credit to your meter.

If you or your friend close your account, for any reason, before the credit is applied, then the referral will be cancelled.

Unfortunately not, Refer a Friend can not be used in in conjunction with any other prospective customer promotional offer.
